Which documents do I need to bring to collect the vehicle at the rental office?

Remember to bring your driver’s licence and make sure it is valid – for rentals in Ireland you must have had your full licence for at least two years

In order to release the reserved vehicle, you need to bring a major Credit / Debit card in the name of the driver. There must be sufficient funds available to meet the rental charges, the fuel capacity and relevant excess amount. To use a debit card you must include our super cover to your rental.

Please consult our van rental terms & conditions for further information on additional documents that may be required at the time of pick-up.

Can I transfer over my own private car insurance to a Hertz van?

We can offer insurance for the length of your rental. If you have your own comprehensive insurance policy you may wish to transfer this onto the rental vehicle, you should ask your insurance broker / company if they will allow you to:-

  1. A temporary substitution: if you wish to use the hire vehicle while not using your car.
  2. A temporary addition: if you wish to use the hire vehicle and your car at the same time.
We must receive confirmation of insurance coverage in writing before we can release the vehicle.
